Deputies and men of law oppose « illegal immigration »’s criminalization in Algeria

A number of deputies at the NPC, as well as two laws to lead a compaign against the recent amendment of the penal code, which contained an article criminalizing the “ clandestine immigrants” and punishing them severly by imprisonment, in addition to the fine, if they leave Algeria illegally.

  • The Workers Party deputies and the Algerian National Front, along with 60 deputies are belonging to a group of small parties in the process of Sensitization on the level of the Lower Chamber of Parliament, designed to detect harmful effects resulting from the article which criminalize the “ illegal imigrants”, through a statement signed by all the deputies, calling for the need to veto this article.
  • These deputies are ready to hold a national symposium and a parliamental day on the phenomenon of “ illegal immigration”, where the real reasons which drive the young men to put themselves in danger for the hope to reach a better life will be presented there.
