Djerad: “Spanish Companies Will Find Genuine Investment Opportunities In Algeria”

 Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad has invited Spanish companies to take part in the renewable energy program that Algeria has drawn up and for which there is an enormous investment potential.

Speaking this Thursday at the opening of the Algerian-Spanish business forum in Algiers, Mr Abdelaziz Djerad pointed to the existence of an important program in the production of photovoltaic energy, the frequency of which will hike in the coming years, calling on the main Spanish industry in this field to contribute to this ambitious project.

As far as hydrocarbons are concerned, where the Spanish are among Algeria’s most important partners and clients, Djerad stated that Algeria is proposing to relaunch the process of oil and gas exploration, in order to ensure higher levels of exports in the future.

Expounding the main lines of the government’s economic program for the long and medium term, the Prime Minister indicated that the State aims to integrate the national economy into the global economic chain, through the exchange of technology, expertise and trade.

With regard to the mining sector, Djerad indicated that mines require a significant attention from the government, to enable this sector to contribute to national efforts.

Similarly for manufacturing industries, especially agriculture, Djerad stressed that they receive special attention, as they are the source of added value and contribute to job creation and economic recovery.
