Drug barons sentenced to 15 years imprisonment
Three people accused of smuggling over 20 kg of drugs and organizing gangs were brought Tuesday before court of Sidi Mhamed. They said during the trial that they smuggled drugs from Morocco across the Algerian borders and exactly through Meghnia, west of Algeria, and sold them in Algiers, using children and women to flee inspections by security.

The main suspect “R.M”, businessman in Algiers denied the accusations by justice, his partner “A.A” recognized all the facts, and their third friend “B.Y”, a taxi driver in Algiers Port Said he was the victim of his neighbour “R.M”.

The drug smugglers were arrested last July after ambush by the Algerian Police.

Prosecutor sought the penalty of 15 year imprisonment for the fleeing accused, 12 years and a fine of 500.000 DA for “R.M” and 10 years imprisonment for both “A.A” and “B.Y”.
