Drugs smuggling attempt foiled in Algeria
The National Gendarmerie forces foiled an attempt of smuggling more than six tonnes of drugs on Tuesday night in three separated operations in the province of Tlemcen (west of Algiers).

Three smugglers were arrested in the largest operation after 565 kg of drugs had been seized and three cars recovered.

The drugs were to be smuggled from Morocco to Eastern Algeria through Tlemcen and Oran (west of Algiers), security sources told Echorouk.

Gendarmes recovered a plastic bag in which there were 28.9 kg of drugs in the town of Adjaidjiya in Tlemcen. Investigations show that a smuggler was planning to take it.
