Drugs' trafficking:Border guards foil the largest operation since independence western Algeria

Battalion 13 of Tlemcen’s first group of border guards (western Algeria) foiled a new attempt to sink Algeria with tons of Moroccan Cannabis, as it is one of the largest quantity ever thwarted since independence, Echorouk sources say.

Investigations are still continuing to determine the identity of the smugglers, after they seized nearly 8 tons, waiting to determine the real quantity, as pointed out by Telemcen’s Commander of the National Gendarmerie, who added that the amount reserved, which smugglers brought from the western borders, before they were arrested in the region of Abdellah, specifically in the village of Ouled Sbaa in the border locality Boussaid.

According to preliminary data, mafia of smuggling have tried to exploit the current conditions experienced by Algeria, on the eve of the match between Algeria and Burkina Faso football teams, as the sports’ events impose their logic these days across the entire national territory, considering this fact among the most important data within the criminal plan of the mafia of smuggling in the mistaken belief of the occurrence of a possible security slack at the borders, before this plan collided with a painful hit added to the many hits that were leveled by the various border security units.
