The Chief Commander of Dubai Police, in the Emirates, has vowed to issue an arrest warrant against Qatar-based Islamic scholar Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, for accusing the Emirates authorities of expelling Syrian nationals after protesting against Bashar al-Assad.

The London-based Arabonline website quoted Dubai Police Chief Commander as saying on his Twitter page that “Al-Qaradawi has been banned from entering the Emirates for he has started a triggering trouble project”, adding that “the methods of al-Qaradawi in terms of managing matters lack wisdom; though he is a clergyman.” He further threatened “anyone daring to offend the State and the government of the Emirates will be subject to justice prosecution.”

“We have never expelled Syrian nationals! Unfortunately, he (al-Qaradawi) hears misleading rumors and believes them!”

Earlier, the prominent Muslim Scholar al-Qaradawi stated in a weekly programme aired on Doha-based al-Jazeera channel, that “the Emirates governors should respect people and avoid trespassing God’s limits.” He further expressed indignation over “the expatriation of hundred anti Syrian regime families from the Emirates.”
