Echorouk Forum: Bouteflika's decision came to protect the Military Institution and not to isolate it, Saadani says

Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Amar Saadani, described the decisions that were made ​​by the President Bouteflika, at the level of the Military Institution, as important.

“These decisions are of his prerogative, as he is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Defense Minister. Resolution of some services that have been affiliated to the Directorate of Queries and Security at the General Command Staff of the National People’s Army in favor of this sensitive institution, in pursuit of professionalism, especially with the increasing size of the risks on the country’s borders.

“I think that these decisions would remove the military institution from the political scene, and regarding justice issues, I’m one of people who call for freedom of justice, but I am of those who wish the judge will not be under the authority of the Ministry of Justice, in order to let him issue judgments without pressures.”

“I think that the military institution returned to its specified place in the Constitution after the decisions that were issued against it, and these decisions serve what we are asking for with regard to the separation of powers, and this decision needs to be valued, by the political class, the civil society and the press. This cannot be considered derogation from the institution or from this or that person. The most important in all this is that it is identical to the Constitution.”

“New decisions will transfer the military institution from one situation to another, as this institution played a certain role in the nineties of the last century in the framework of the so attached to the state of emergency, but today, after the abolition of the state of emergency, the powers of the military institution, should have been considered again in line with the nature of the stage.”
