Echorouk Forum : Party leader against condemnation of “illegal immigrants”

Taking the floor before journalists at Echourok Forum, the labour party leader, Louiza Hanoun declared that the economic embellishment witnessed in Algeria over these last few years and the attempt to anticipate the payment of the debt, was not reflected on the citizen’s true-life.

• She explained the paradox by the dogmatic and short-sighted policy conducted by the Algerian authorities, which enlarged the gap between a limited number of beneficiaries and the rest of the population, especially the young people who preferred to risk their lives at sea rather than stay in Algeria.
• Louiza Hanoun added that some ministers didn’t stop their intimidations at the direction of the people by issuing laws that defied the very sovereignty of the nation, paving the way for foreign companies to take hold on the country’s wealth.
• She blamed some ministers, saying that they were working to serve “foreign interests“ in Algeria by forwarding erroneous reports to the president far from reality, adding that she herself during a meeting with the president in 2006, she asked him whether he was aware about the privatization policy and replied that some ministers were presenting fake reports to him.

• The party’s leader qualified the law issued the day before yesterday by the government which incriminates illegal immigrants as a “mistake” saying” We cannot incriminate and punish the illegal immigrants while they are in need of help and psychological assistance, they are victims of a failed economic policy and successive political blows “.
• It is wiser, she said to punish the networks which facilitates this illegal immigration, because this phenomenon is another national plight in addition to suicide, kidnapping and other social illnesses.

• Mis Hanoun linked the latest upheavals that shook various regions in the country to the accumulation problems and pressures, in the sense that the Algerian people is under high alert ready to react to any stimulus, causing civil disobedience.
• She staunchly criticized the industry and investments’ promotion minister, Abdelhamid Temmar , whom she accused of dilapidating the country’s wealth and liquidating some 1200 national companies, and lying ground to the return of the French companies which were here in Algeria before the independence of the country, citing the example of the giant cement group “LAFARGE” chased in 1968.
