Echorouk newspaper GM Ali Fodil: “I was the first who wished to create a Gaza aid convoy in 2008

Echorouk newspaper’s General Manager Ali Fodil expresses his happiness and joy following the return of Algerian delegation that reached Gaza strip without any problems.

• “At the beginning I was afraid the Israeli troops would stop our aid convoy from entering Gaza strip. Palestine is an important issue for Algerians and Echorouk newspaper, and we should not forget it, as Arab countries are preoccupied with the World Cup matches or other secondary issues. Israel tries to benefit from these events in order to reach its goals”, Ali Fodil says.

• “The initiative to send a convoy to Gaza was a dream until it becomes true in 2008. During an interview with Al Jazeera we expressed our desire to send an Algerian convoy to Gaza. Thanks Allah because our dream becomes true and we achieve a double joy, the joy of realizing our dream and victory of Gaza people. We always support Gaza until the end of Israeli blockade. Because of these aid convoys and continuing pressure on Egypt and Israel the siege could be lifted forever on Gaza strip and all the crossings should be open to bring life to Gaza until independence of Palestine”, he adds.
