Echorouk publishes list of Algerian prisoners in Libya

According to a list presented by lawyer Abdelmadjid Kalvali, the number of Algerian prisoners in Libya is 53.

The list contains varied sanctions between death penalty and cutting off hands as well as 11 names of prisoners who were not trialled and most of them have been jailed for 4 years.Prisoners from 10 African countries imitated Algerians and protested to draw the attention of Libyan and their homelands’ authorities to their situation.In that regard, some of the countries’ ambassadors have sent delegates to the Libyan jails.

They come from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Chad, Sudan, Nigeria, Mali, Ghana and Niger.The Algerian prisoners are still waiting for the move of the Algerian embassy in Libya. They issued a statement Wednesday in which they call on the Libyan authorities to allow the lawyer Abdelmadjid Kalvali to visit them, know their conditions and open their case file before Libyan justice.
