Education: 15 thousand contractual teachers claim priority in early recruitment
A host of contractual and temporary teachers joined the newly-formed National Coordination Council of high-schools of Algeria “KALA” to push for the rights of about 15,000 teachers not fully employed in the education sector, by calling on the national education Minister Nouria Benghabrit to freeze all the planned recruitment contests before the full integration of these two categories of education workers.
The Council of high schools of Algeria, issued a written in a statement, of which “Echorouk” got a copy, urging the national education minister to seriously address the grievances and concerns of these contractual and spare teachers concerning their legitimate right to employment on a permanent basis.
The statement also said that the dialogue between the Education Ministry and the trade union sector, had led to the setting up of this new coordination council to press for the pending rights of contractual and temporary teachers who number about 15,000 nationally, essentially by granting them priority in job integration before indulging in any new recruitment contests or search for new employees.
The coordination also claims payment and dues for this category of teachers on a regular monthly basis and exhorted the education Ministry to ensure the protection of this category of teachers from any untoward bureaucratic manipulations, marginalization or abuse.
