About 50.000 education assistants will go on a strike Sunday after a judicial claim has been raised against the Algerian Ministry of Education, said the spokesman of the committee of education assistants, Fertaki Mourad

• The Education workers trade Union Unpef already called teachers, last week, allover the country to stop teaching for 3 days to protest against the governement policy in the education sector.
• The education assistants decided aslo to express their anger about the working conditions. They also claim more rights including a professional status and promotion to higher administrative and educational positions. 
• Education assistants are agents with lower qualification than teachers. They are employed in junior and high schools to provide adminstartive and keeping services.
