Education minister to review the main status of education personnel

Reliable sources have revealed to Echourouk hat the education minister Baba Ahmed Abdeltif has decided to set up a ministerial committee entrusted with remedying to the irregularities of the status of the national education personnel, asserting that he will summon the independent unions to take part to this revision.

The same sources have indicated that the minister has conducted a series of bilateral meetings with the independent education unions soon after his appointment at the helm of the sector I addition to those conducted with the top managers of his ministry.

In the wake of these discussions, the minister has decided to review the law issued in July 2012 and signed by the former Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, noting that the independent unions will actively participate in the elaboration of the new law because they have denounced it at the very beginning.

To recall, the law has prevented thousands of workers of the sector to get promotions because the “transitional provision” included in the old law was not mentioned in the new one.
