Education Sector:Exceptional loans of up to 150.000 DA for low-income earners

The head of the national social services commission, Abderrahmane Belmechri, has announced the decision to grant exceptional loans in the form of advance payments to all low-income earners employed in the education sector.

This financial amount will be repaid by portions on a monthly basis by taking into account the exact income of each employee, he said.

Mr Belmechri further indicated that around 31 thousand retirees of the national education sector would be allotted as a bonus payment 250.000 dinars by the end of next December in addition to the achievement shortly of district health centers and central hospitals to bring health care closer to the employees and the retirees of the education sector.

In a statement to Echorouk, Mr Abderrahmane Belmechri also announced that the 2.100 education sector employees, who were denied last season the fulfillment of the Umrah or small pilgrimage to the holy places of Islam in Saudi Arabia because of visa constraints and reduced quota of Algerian pilgrims, would be duly included in the roster of this year’s pilgrimage.

Among other incentives provided by the social services commission,6.000 employees were granted preferential loans to purchase new housing units and 4.300 others received loans to buy new vehicles, he added.

Mr Belmechri explained that the recipients of these preferential loans granted by the commission in charge of social affairs were expected to reimburse these loans with a 10 thousand dinar monthly payment within a 4-year period.

 

He finally affirmed that the commission had also provided a significant financial assistance to widows with orphans as well as to the disabled in addition to needy sick employees stressing to this effect that the commission had graciously paid for 60 per cent of the costs incurred by surgical operations for a total of 8.704 patients over the past few years.
