Education union rejects idea of tailor-made courses for baccalaureate exam

A reliable source has revealed to Echourouk that the yearly timetable of high school final year drawn up by the education ministry last august comprises an additional month dedicated for the revision and catch up sessions, in order to avoid constraint for teachers and students alike.

Meanwhile, third year students have launched a campaign on facebook to stage a march in Algiers to call for the limit of the courses to revise for the baccalaureate exams.

The same source has indicated that the timetable is balanced and takes into account all the pedagogical aspects, noting that the program is easy to grasp for the students and less constraining for the teachers.

Students of the last year of the middle school as well as those of the high school have the possibility to consult supporting courses thorough the website of the national office of education, the source added.

But the independent council of the high school teachers has staunchly criticized the attitude of the students considering that these later shouldn’t pressure the relevant authorities to limit the number of the courses to revise for the baccalaureate, expressing their objection to this grievance.
