Education:Opening of free lessons' schools to eliminate private lessons
Independent Education Unions asked for the need to legalize private lessons by opening the doors of schools outside school hours for the benefit of pupils, provided that the Ministry of National Education will pay dues for teachers and calculate the “sessions” on the basis of additional hours to pay 1,000 dinars for each teaching hour, in order to eliminate the phenomenon that has become terribly widespread.
IEU confirmed that these lessons despite their drawbacks, have contributed to raise the rates of success in the baccalaureate, although they are presented in random ways.
In contrast, the Minister of National Education will preside here on Sunday, a Technical Symposium that will gather him with Education Managers, using the technique of “video lecture”, to discuss the phenomenon of private lessons and research for the mechanisms of eliminating them.
National Secretary in charge of Information and Communication at the Independent National Council of the Secondary and Technical School Teachers, Messaoud Boudiba, said in a statement to Echorouk, that the study of the file of private lessons in the current situation is not a priority, because there are other files that deserve discussion and prompt treatment, which is the school violence, security in schools, and Training of Trainers, because the public school needs teachers who are able to control the new programs.
“Education Ministry cannot reduce the phenomenon of private lessons, because it is a self decision that stems from the desire of self, both for the students or their parents, to the extent that there are parents who allow their children to receive private lessons by the same teachers in their schools, and therefore If the teacher fails in giving information to his students in the section, would he succeed in performing the same tasks outside the school?”
