Egyptian PM: « The objective is to revive Algeria-Egypt cooperation spirit »
Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil started Monday a three-day official visit to Algeria, aiming to give a fresh impetus to the relations and cooperation between the two Arab countries.
- Egypt’s Premier Hisham Qandil said in a statement on his arrival in Algiers that the purpose of his visit was to “revive” the spirit of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and to “warm up the historical and long-standing relations,”
- “There is coordination between the two countries in politics, economy and security,” he said, pointing out that the most important thing was the “rapprochement.”
- During the first day of his visit,Hisham Qandil held a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmalek Sellal on bilateral relations and how best to reinforce them even further.
- He’s also slated to confer with other senior Algerian officials.
- The visiting Egyptian Premier is leading a large delegation made up of several ministers representing several sectors of activity.
- Mr Hisham Qandil is the first senior Egyptian official to pay an official visit to Algeria since the outbreak of Egypt’s revolution in early 2011 which ousted the autocratic Mubarak regime.
