Exam’s topics leak : education ministry strikes back

Several teachers mentioned the existence of topic samples of Mathematics and Philosophy, likely to be selected for the 2008twelfth grade exam (baccalaureate), and said to be leaked from the committee in charge of the supervision of this national exam.

• One of the teachers, who was given a sample by his student to work on, declared to “Echourouk” that the sample was written down on a headed note- paper referring to the Algerian institutions, adding fuel allegations saying that some teachers are selling topics which they say are most probably those chosen to be part of this year’s baccalaureate.
• To recall, the Algerian education minister, Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid laid the blame on local authorities for being, in part responsible, for the spread of private courses phenomenon, despite efforts made by the government to provide make-up sessions for students within schools and for free.
