Factory of phosphate fertilizers’ project employs 1000 workers and produces 6 million tons of phosphatic materials

Algerian PM, Ahmed Ouyahia, wrote to both the Minister of Energy and Mines, Chakib Khalil, and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Rachid Ben Issa, as well as to the governor of Gualma province ( east of Algeria), asking them to accelerate beyond the obstacles to finish the Phophate fertilizers’ company project in the region of Bouchegouf in Gualma province (east of Algeria).

  • It is noteworthy that this project which will unable Algeria to become a Phosphate exporting country, instead of the high costs borne by the state treasury, from the current import process, which was identified and started in 2006 in a partnership with Ferphos National Group and Sonatrach, as well as the Pakistani company “Pakistan of Chemicals”.
  • The project which was approved by the state contributions’ council on February the 3rd, aimes at raising the exploitation of the Phosphate mine “El Ank Mount” in Bir Alatar in Tébessa, which contains more than one billion tons of reserves, and from 1.5 to 6+ million tons per year, of which 2 million tons are exported in the form of crude and 6 million tons will be diverted locally at the level of the company, which will be completed in Bouchefouf.
  • The Algerian PM concluded his letter by asking Gualma province governor to deposit the real estate plan which is mentioned under the disposition in no later than 15 days in the legal form in order to complete the industrial project.
