False Bomb Alert raised Emergency in Algiers Airport
Security services of Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers, declared high alert, after receiving a phone call about the presence of a bomb at the international airport on an Air Algerie plane which was flying to Marseilles at 10am
Official security sources told Echorouk; ” At 10 am Friday, security services of the airport received a phone call from an unknown person, stating that someone had planted a bomb on an Air Algerie plane, which was heading to Marseille, targetting the international airport and the passengers.
Echorouk sources added; “After receiving the phone call, services of the Border Police evacuate both the international and national airports, and even the airport of pilgrims, then inspected every aircraft that was parked place, and all passengers and their baggage, and brought a team for explosives detection which launched a combing operation in the place, before declaring that everything has returned to normal, and after making sure that it was a false bomb alert which aimed to disturb the security of the airport.
Police of the airport opened a judicial investigation to find out the caller, as the services of border police tightened control in the airport in order to secure the place.
