FIFA/Egypt: “Abou Reida confirms the sanctions … and Samir Zaher is scared stiff of them”

The FIFA disciplinary commission is to decide on Monday on the burning file pertaining to the fixture which opposed Egypt and Algeria in Cairo on November 14th 2009 as part of the qualifiers for the 2010 World cup competition.

  • This fixture was preceded by tragic events during which the bus carrying the delegation of the Greens of Algeria was stoned by Egyptian supporters on its way to the hotel where the Algerian delegation was to reside.
  •
  • This cowardly and blameworthy aggression caused several injuries among the Algerian delegation, that’s why the World football governing body led by Joseph Blatter is expected to announce on May 18th sanctions against the Egyptian Federation as well as against its Chairman Samir Zaher who did not take any preventive measures to guarantee the required security of the Algeria line-up before and after the World cup qualifier versus Egypt in Cairo.
  •
  • To make matters worse for him, the blame was pinned on Samer Zaher who is regarded by all and sundry as the main instigator of this heinous act of aggression against the Algerian line-up.
  •
  • Since then, Zaher has glaringly sought to shirk his responsibilities together with his colleagues within the Egyptian football federation by denying the blatant facts arguing shamelessly that it was the Algerian players themselves who had smashed the window panes of the bus.
  •
  • Zaher and his “henchmen” have laid themselves open to ridicule by hatching this nonsensical and evasive argument to save their skin in the eyes of the International public opinion but to no avail as the FIFA is expected to hand down its verdict shortly with the announcement of sanctions against the Egyptian side in relation to the tragic Cairo events.
  •
  • The Vice-chairman of the Egyptian football federation Abou Reida said for his part in Cairo that he expected sanctions against Egypt from the World football governing body (FIFA).
