FIFA executive board member to “Echourok”: Your teams’ chances are big and don’t be afraid of the refereeing”

FIFA executive board member the Egyptian Hani Abu Reida has declared that the Algeria squad chances to reach the World Cup in South Africa are big despite his country’s ambitions to do so.

• Talking to Echourok in the Egyptian town Aswan, Abu Reida has indicated that technically and logically speaking the “Greens” are on the best lane in comparison to the “Pharaohs” since the Algerians have three opportunities to book their tickets for the world Cup competition, either to win, make a draw or lose by less than one goal. He went on saying “Logic says that Algeria is favourite, but don’t forget that the Egyptians’ chances are still intact and they are the African Cup Champions”.

• The FIFA member denied allegations that the Egyptian football federation has been warned by the international supreme body and would be denied participation to the world cup in case of troubles during the match versus Algeria.

• M Abu Reida has excluded any probability of the outbreak of troubles “ I don’t expect such troubles , our fans are known for their fervor but they don’t resort to violence to reach their goals”. He further added “ We’ve been congratulated by the FIFA for our excellent organization during the U17 World Cup that took place in Egypt, it would be silly to use violence to reach the World Cup”.

• Abu Reida has revealed that atmosphere which prevails before the match Egypt versus Algeria is very similar to that of the derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek , adding that the match is very tough, but the debates will be between 22 players on a pitch along 90 minutes and the best will win”
