FIFA opinion poll: “Algeria is the Arab country having the best chances to qualify to 2010 World cup”
According to an opinion poll carried out yesterday by the International Football Governing body (FIFA), the Algerian national squad is well poised to qualify to the 2010 World cup contest in South Africa owing to its remarkable performance achieved so far in the qualifying competition in the Africa zone.

Still in the Africa zone, Tunisia is also credited with good chances to secure a berth in the next World cup in addition to Saudi Arabia in the Asia zone.

In so doing, the Saudis should imperatively defeat Bahrain on September 5th.

This upcoming decisive qualifier will be a tough one for the Saudis as they will play on Bahraini ground.

The Arab national squads who still have chances to qualify to the South African World cup competition are Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan in the Africa zone and Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the Asia zone.

According to the FIFA opinion poll, 28,13% of those people questioned affirmed that Algeria would keep the leadership of her group while 50,06% others asserted that favourite Brazil would also qualify by topping their group with flying colours.

Other countries who are tipped to maintain their leadership in their respective group include Costa Rica, Denmark, Greece and Tunisia.
