The International Football Governing Body, FIFA has yesterday fined the 71,000 Euros and two matches outdoor the Egyptian Football federation in the wake of the attack over the bus of the Algerian national football team in Cairo before the match counting for the qualifiers to the World cup competition last November.
-
FIFA has delayed the issue of the sanctions against the Egyptians for more than 6 months sparking thus several interrogations and gave free way to speculations over the real intents of this Union concerning the issue.
-
-
Although the nature of the sanctions didn’t liver up to experts’ expectations considering them inappropriate in comparison to the seriousness of the charges, they nonetheless showed to the world that the Egyptians carried out a heinous act against players came to play a football match.

These sanctions have also eluded Egyptian Federation Chairman’s tricks alongside his henchmen to fool the international public opinion in a move to lay the blame on the Algerian fans accusing them of attacking their Egyptian counterparts during the play off match in Oumderman, Sudan.
-
However, the FIFA’s Disciplinary Commission was complacent when dealing with this tricky case and didn’t apply the sanctions as stipulated in the statutes that staunchly punish these types of acts, especially that the Egyptians have already committed similar attacks over the Zimbabwean national squad in 1997 and the Tunisian club “ Nedjm Essahli” in the African Champions League final in Cairo.
