Finally… 3G services to be launched on Sunday

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority gave the green light to mobile phone operators to initiate the commercialization of 3G services for mobile phone in Algeria, as it notified officially operators about the 3G offers and approval by a special Committee of Experts.

The Regulatory Authority said in a statement that was released on Thursday that it has completed the process of study and analysis for a set of business presentations that were deposited by the three mobile phone operators which obtained a license to exploit the 3G network, noting that it informed operators that there were no reservations on the offers.

Statement by the Regulatory Authority reserved on the general conditions for participation in the 3G services that were provided by operators, as it asserted that changes must be done in order to protect the rights of participants, and will allow for the observation and verification of the degree of commitment by operator.

The Three operators are heading to the formal launch of the 3G commercialization on Sunday after the disclosure of the presentations by each trader, whether for post payment formula or pre-payment.

General Manager of the historic operator Mobilis, Saad Dama told Echorouk that Mobilis offers will be a surprise for the Algerians and all classes of society.

“Mobilis offers will be disclosed on Sunday, as the operator will organize a ceremony to mark the official announcement of the 3G marketing, which will include a surprise to customers, as an expression of gratitude by Mobilis to its customers and subscribers”, he added.

“Regulatory authority classified technical solution that is provided by Mobilis about the two numbers on a single SIM Card as an effective and safe solution that responds to the technical requirements that were set by the regulatory authority in the book of conditions by separating between the two numbers”.

“Mobilis will provide services to its subscribers the Viber and Skype on its network and with high quality, while the 3G numbers for post payment formula will be 0671, and for the pre-payment it will be allocated 0672”.

“Mobilis remains keen on its duties to cover all regions of the country and secure them in less than 3 years, and work to sensitize all economic sectors with this technology and this new move which positively affects Algeria and Algerians”.

General Manager of Ooredoo (Nedjma) Joseph Ged, said in a press statement; “After 10 days of getting the final license to exploit the 3G network and only 12 hours of final approval by the Regulatory Authority, Ooredoo will launch “3G ++” for its customers. 

“Ooredoo will be in the level of aspirations and actual coexistence of mobile Internet with High-flow in Algeria”.

Director of Public Relations at Ooredoo, Ramdane Djazairi, said that Ooredoo launched a part of the 3G services to its customers and it will be commercial officially tomorrow, adding that offers will reach all classes of Algerian society, and will be available on “Smart Phones”, digital “Tablets” and internet USB keys.

For his part, Director of Communication and Public Relations at Djezzy, Hamid Grine said; “Given the circumstances of Djezzy and the delay of the inauguration and the spread of the network, offers will notice some delay. Offers that will be submitted by Djezzy will be at the level of the expectations of customers who gave it the lead nationally”.
