Financial aids from EU worth 17 million Euros to support Algeria's prisons

European Union gave financial aids worth 17 million Euros for Algeria to support prison sector, take care of prisoners, in re-integrate them socially with a best formation for the sector’s staff.

  • Cooperation convention named “programme of supporting reform in Algerian prison sector” has been signed at the ministry of justice.
  • Cooperation convention was signed by Mesaoud Boufercha , Algerian Secretary General at the ministry of justice and the UN ambassador to Algeria Mr. Blaza Wolfgang. The prison’s public department general director Mokhtar Felioune was present as well.
  • Convention’s program extends to four years and will be funded with about 27 million Euros by the European Commission.
