First wave of Algerian supporters to travel on June 8th to South Africa
The cross-ministerial Committee in charge of the organization of the Algerian fans’ trip to South Africa as part of the world cup competition, has fixed during a meeting the date of June 8th as the starting point of a series of departures for 1100 supporters who have already booked their tickets.

The Algeria authorities have set up a deadline for 900 other fans that want to travel to South Africa and fixed it to next Friday in order to enable the Committee to concentrate on the organizational matters.

The representative of the National Travel Agency and a member of the Committee, M Sahli has indicated to Echourok that yesterday’s meeting was the last one and was designed to define the tasks for all the parties involved in this operation in parallel with the completion of the last details concerning the transportation of 2000 fans.

M Sahli has declared that the Algerian airline company ( Air Algérie) has chosen the date of June,8th for the departure of 250 to 267 supporters as part of a series of flights until the transportation of the 2000 Algerian fans.

Although the fares are relatively high in comparison to the Algerian standards, they are nonetheless subsidized by the Algerian authorities in the sense that the Algerian flight company has reduced the prices.

Three options were offered by the two travel agencies for the fans the first one will cost 275 thousand Algerian Dinars, as to the second and third they will cost respectively 370 thousand and 416 thousand Algerian dinars including stays at three and four stars hotels for 13days.

The Sports and Youth Ministry is envisaging the possibility of standing for the charges of the Algerian journalists who will move to South Africa to cover the event and is working on scheduling a special flight on June 4th or 5th in order to transport the journalists.
