Five contracts worth 12.000 billion dinars between Sonelgas and an Italian bankrupt company
Public prosecutor of the Court of Sidi M’hamed, asked, by order of the General Attorney of Algiers judicial Council, the services of the national gendarmerie of Algiers, to investigate on five suspicious deals that were concluded by the company Sonelgaz with the Italian company specialized in the electricity sector “Ensaldo” with financial value of $1.5 billion to complete plants for electricity production, which is equivalent to 120 billion dinars (12,000 billion centimes).
Echorouk sources added that Sonelgas signed a contract for the establishment of central electricity productivity with the power if 320 megawatt, estimated at 340 million euros with the Italian company Ensaldo, but after only a month, the first deal was canceled and was replaced with a second contract, and the production power was doubled with 640 megawatt, at the value of 500 million euros, without announcing a tender, and this is illegal, and enters in the category of signing contracts that violate the law in application, in order to give unjustified privileges to others, in addition, the Italian company faced bancrupcy and Sonelgas save it from that.
As for the contracts that were signed between the two parties, it concerns the stations of Larbaa in Blida, with a productivity power of 650 megawatt and a total value of 700 million dollars, and the electricity station on Hassi Messaoud worth 250 million euros, the equivalent of 30 billion dinars, ans stations of Setif, Batna and Fekrina, a these projects aere among the emergency plan for electricity, which costed over one billion dollars, aiming to create a balance in demands, and realise investments worth 2000 megawatt.
