Five gendarmes killed in Algeria
Five gendarmes were killed in a terrorist attack on Wednesday in the district of Oueld Antar in Medea (120 km southwest of Algiers).

Witnessed said the terrorists who were in military uniforms set up a fake roadblock on the route 500 metres of communal guards station.

“We though they were from the army before starting shooting two cars of the National Gendarmerie forces,” says a witness.

The terrorists took the gendarmes’ weapons and run away to a nearby forest which is now under a large-scale military operation.

According to a shocked witness, the terrorists surprised the victims and repeated the word ‘Qaeda.’

Residents condemned the attack and an expressed fear over potential escalation of terrorist attacks in the area with has witnessed security stability for many years.
