Five terrorists killed in Algeria

Security forces killed five terrorists and arrested two others on Monday in the mountainous area of Tebessa province (east of Algiers). Three others fled to various nearby hideouts after being wounded, according to security sources.

• This comes following a military operation carried out in the area which has recently witnessed terrorist attacks killing 9 people including 5 soldiers.
• Two days earlier, security forces surrounded the ten terrorists affiliated to the Salafist Group for Preaching and combat (GSPC).
• Security forces are still tightening the nose on all suspicious areas to push the remaining terrorists to surrender or eliminate them, the same sources told Echorouk.
• Residents showed satisfaction over the military operation. They said it came at the right time after terrorists had tried to transmit coded messages suggesting their fresh start in the Tebessa.
