FLN appeals against the Interior Ministry's instruction

FLN’s official in charge of communication, Issa Kasa wonders, in a phone conversation with Echorouk, whether the Interior Ministry has the powers to decide about the Article 80, and the license to organize
a second elections of mayors in the councils which still stuck out, adding that it falls within the purview of the State Council and the Supreme Court, which can be used in this case, describing the instruction of the Interior Minister for the governors, which included the application of Article 80 of the election law, as a narrow interpretation of the article which would affect the elections, asserting that the leadership expressed its refusal and decided to hold an emergency meeting of the Political Bureau to take an explicit position.

“Allowing the organization of a second round, which involve the winning lists to resolve the dispute over the presidency of the municipalities, is in fact a trend towards cracking the list that obtained the largest number of votes represented by FLN, which would create instability in municipalities, especially in the deliberations on the budget which requires a two-thirds of votes, in order to enter into force, because the candidates of FLN will never stand with those who take their right to the presidency of the municipalities”.
