FLN Party ministers tried on Thursday to passe a “draft statement” which provides for approval on the proposal of sponsorship in accordance with the principle of “the Central Committee that chooses the Secretary-General,” but the majority of the Politburo members opposed the draft of the final statement, and the term was replaced with “elections”.
In parallel, Abderrahman Belayat, coordinator of the National Liberation Front, wondered why some members of the Movement of Reform and Rooting, insist on not to recognize the legitimacy; “I did not ask for the position of coordinator, but it was imposed according to the legal texts. The one who has a mind to appeal against my legitimacy, will regret later and we will respond him in the coming days.”
Movement of Reform and Rooting at the the National Liberation Front, asserted that the meeting of the Political Bureau included two confessions, the first is that the members of the Political Bureau of the Party held a consultative meeting which is not legal, and the second is a concession of Belkhadem supporters on the need to elect a new Secretary General and not to insist on the Belkhadem candidature.
Mouhamed Sghir Kara, said in a statement to Echorouk, that the movement is still existent, and its work is not yet over, after the overthrow of Abdelaziz Belkhadem from the Secretariat, adding that the Political Bureau, has held a meeting among the consultations, and not a meeting with an official character, classifying the meeting as “positive”, based on a tacit admission – in a statement – for a waiver of the members of the Political Bureau, who asked for the candidature of Belkhadem for the same requirement, saying; “Yesterday we received approval to nominate a new Secretary-General, and the political reading of the statement means, dropping Belkhadem from the agenda of the candidates.”
