FLN MPs ask for removing Ould Khelifa due to illness

Health situation of the President of the Parliament’s Lower Chamber, Arbi Ould Khelifa raises interest and concern of MPs, as some of them ask for reviewing his medical report, to know about his ability to complete his term in leading this legislative institution, after being absent for weeks, which caused the disruption of Parliament activities.

Brief session that Ould Khalifa held on Monday morning to appoint Vice-Chairmen of the National People’s Assembly, as some deputies start unifying positions on the need for access to the medical file of the President of the Council, who seemed on Monday afternoon a lit bit tired after a treatment in France.

In this regard Lahbib Zekad, deputy of the National Social Democratic Union, headed by the former first secretary of the Socialist Forces Front, Karim Tabou, said that the deputies of the party to which he belongs, will demand access to the medical file of parliament’s head, on the pretext that it is a popularly elected institution.

Informed sources from the Council said that MPs of FLN parliamentary group, proposed the exemption of Ould Khelifa from his duties as Chairman of the National People’s Assembly after the deterioration of his health situation and his travel abroad, taking advantage of his absence, as this idea came through an overheating competition on FLN structures in the Council, which led to the delay of its installation, which forced the current Secretary General of the party Amar Saadani to interfere and decided to let the matter for the elections.
