FLN’s Central Committee nominated Bouteflika to run for a fourth term

Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Amar Saadani, quoted the recommendation of the Central Committee to justify his repeated calls for the President Bouteflika’s candidacy for a Fourth Term, in a session which agenda revolves about the completion of legitimizing the party’ last bodies, represented by the Politburo.

Saadani succeeded in saving the session from the failure that it threatened, especially since his opponents in the party, such as Abdelkarim Abada and Abderrahman Belaiat, who had been invited on the eve of the meeting, to boycott the session, as the majority attended it and agreed to everything proposed by the Secretary General of the Party.

The session was attended, according to Amar Saadani, by 288 members, before rising the figure in the press conference that hosted following the conclusion of works to 291, of the total 330 members, pointing out that Amar Wazzani is the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, and Si Yousef Mahmoud, Chairman of the Finance Committee.

A list that was prepared by members of the Central Committee unanimously, and was read by the MP Noureddine Assed, called upon President Bouteflika to run for the upcoming Presidential Elections, “to complete the program of development and reform, and amend the constitution as soon as possible, so as to enhance the separation of powers, and adjust the powers of all the state institutions”, as this call was met with clapping and ululating by those who were in the hall.

Prior to that, Amar Saadani took the appropriate time to renew, in his opening speech, his call for the President Bouteflika, saying: “I propose Abdelaziz Bouteflika to be our candidate..because of his outcome since 1999, positive work in all sectors, politics, economy, security and culture..”.

Amar Saadani spoke about the President’s intention to contest the race for the fourth term, saying; “He intends to complete the reforms that were launched in his famous speech in April 2011”.
