Following Raouraoua initiative: FIFA to lift sanctions against players during World Cup matches

Sources close to the FIFA said that heads of many Football Federations that participated in the World Cup South Africa would file a formal request to Joseph Blatter calling for the necessity to lift the sanctions meted out to their players during the Africa Cup.

  • Echorouk sources said that Blatter has expressed great flexibility to meet the desire of heads of Federations as that all teams can take advantage of their players, both in continental cups.

  • Decision of the FIFA, expected to be endorsed after the end of World Cup 2010, is useful for Algeria’s team, which would benefit from the return of the three players, Antar Yahia, Mehdi Lahcen and Hassan Yebda.

  • Rabah Saadane expressed hope to benefit from the services of the three players during the first match for the Africa Cup 2012 before Tanzania next September.
