Football: Beefed up security measures for Algeria-Libya qualifier

According to the FAF Federation, security measures will be bolstered during the upcoming qualifying fixture for the finals of 2013 Africa cup of nations’ football tournament due to oppose Algeria and Libya on October 14th 2012 in the Tchaker stadium of Blida, 50 km from the capital Algiers.

  • A FAF spokesman told Echorouk that extra police reinforcements would be deployed in and around the Tchaker stadium in order to ensure law and order and ward off any dangerous drifts or scuffles triggered by frenzied football fans.
  • This untoward contingency could mar this second-leg qualifying game and bring about stringent sanctions against the Algerian national squad from the African football confederation (CAF).

  • In the first-leg match played last month in neutral venue of Marrakech in Morocco, Algeria defeated Libya by 1 goal to nil.

  • In order to attract the maximum fans for this decisive qualifier versus Libya, the organizers have reduced the price of tickets from 400 dinars to just 200 dinars for the upper stands while prices for better placed stands in the stadium will be sold for 1.000 dinars as usual.

  • Organizers also indicated that all spectators wishing to get into the stadium of Blida for the upcoming Algeria-Libya fixture should show their identity card in addition to the entrance ticket to the security personnel present forcefully at the gates.

  • The tickets for the match estimated at over 35 thousand in all will be sold on the 12th and 13th of this month at Tchaker stadium from 9 am to 5pm, the organizers added.
