Football / ES Sétif lose (0-1) at home vs Espérance of Tunis

Against all expectations, the Algerian squad of ES Sétif suffered yesterday in Sétif stadium a 1-nil defeat versus Esperance of Tunis in a first-leg semi-final match of the Arab champions League competition.  

• Tunisian striker Derradji did not miss a golden opportunity in the second half to score the winning goal for his team about 15 minutes before the referee’s final whistle.

• Despite manifold but awkward offensive spurts, the players of ES Sétif did not manage to score the equalizer to the dismay of their numerous supporters.

• With this unexpected home setback, ES Sétif have virtually compromised their chances of qualification to the Arab cup final this year as the second-leg match in Tunis in a fortnight will not be an easy task for the Sétif squad.
