Football: Mahrez Tops List Of 10 Most Expensive Arab Transfer Deals In History

Algerian international star footballer Riyad Mahrez continues to top the list of the most expensive Arab transfer deals in history, despite the announcement that Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech will be transferred to Chelsea Club next summer for 40 million euros and five million as additional incentives, provided the two sides reach a personal agreement.

The value of the deal placed Ziyech third in the list of the most expensive Arab players in history after the Egyptian international Mohamed Salah and the Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the current star of England’s Manchester City, who moved from Leicester to City in July 2018 for a transfer a value of 67 million and 800 thousand euros.

In addition to Mahrez, the list of the most expensive 10 Arab deals included other Algerian players including striker Islam Slimani, who came in fourth place after moving from Sporting Lisbon to English club Leicester in August 2016 for a transfer deal amounting to 30 million and 500 thousand euros, while the other Algerian international Nabil Bentaleb who moved from England’s Tottenham Hotspur to Schalke 04 in Germany in July 2017 for a transfer fee worth 19 million euros.

The list of the most expensive 10 Arab transfer deals came as follows:
1 Algerian Riyad Mahrez (from Leicester City to Manchester City / July 2018): The value of the transfer deal is 67 million and 800 thousand euros.
2 Egyptian Mohamed Salah (from Rome to Liverpool / July 2017): The value of the deal is 42 million euros.
3 Hakim Ziyech (from Ajax to Chelsea / June 2020): the deal amounted to 40 million euros.
4 Algerian Islam Slimani (from Sporting Lisbon to Leicester / August 2016): The value of the transfer deal is 30 million and 500 thousand euros.
5 Al-Mahdi Ben Attia (from AS Roma to Bayern Munich / August 2014): the deal value is 28 million euros.
6 Tunisian Ayman Abdel Nour (from Monaco to Valencia / August 2015): the transfer deal amounted to 22 million euros.
7 Youssef El-Nossry (from Leganes to Seville / January 2020): the transfer deal value is € 20 million.
8 Sofiane Amrabat (from Verona to Florentina/ January 2020): the deal value is 20 million euros.
9 Algerian Nabil Bentaleb (from Tottenham to Schalke / July 2017): The transfer deal value is 19 million euros.
10 Sofiane Bofal (from Lille to Southampton / August 2016): the transfer deal amounted to 18 million and 700,000 euros.
