Football / Members of the FAF Federation use leverage to drive out Chairman Hadadj.
The beleaguered chairman of the Algerian football Federation –FAF – Abdelhamid Hadadj is facing bitter recriminations and reprobations from other FAF members as a result of the upheaval touched off by the so – called “RC Kouba affair†which was brought by RC Kouba officials to the International sports tribunal for a final decision on the controversial issue.

This world sporting tribunal has enjoined, after examining the RC Kouba appeal’s request, the FAF Federation to include forthwith the Kouba squad in the ongoing national first – division football competition.

In case of a refusal to carry out the tribunal’s injunction, the FAF Federation could face a heavy fine estimated at about 10 billion centimes or one million Euros.

Furthermore, the International sport tribunal could also take other types of sanctions, by notably banning the Algerian National Football team from the combined 2010 African and World Cup competitions.

So, Algeria’s next qualifier versus Senegal in Blida stadium, planned for September 5th 2008, is now on a “tight rope” in case of a protracted showdown between the parties concerned.
