Foreign ministry: Algeria does not shelter Tawhid and Jihad elements in Tindouf camps

French lobbies concluded « evil alliance » with Morocco’s Makhzen as a secret agreement on French President François Hollande’s visit to the country, a few days ago.

This comes as the US stopped supporting the Moroccan kingdom in its unilateral approach to resolve the Western Sahara issue. Moroccan delegate foreign minister called on Algeria to “change its position” about the issue. Spokesman for the Algerian foreign minister Amar Blani said the conflict over Western Sahara is not a fabricated crisis imposed by Algeria on Morocco.

French news agency AFP has posted for the second time consecutively reports which “serve” the Moroccan allegations via misleading and false information. The Algerian spokesman said the AFP “has recently published false information in a new report. This is seriously and clearly misleading.”

The report says many fighters of Tawhid and Jihad movement in Western Africa came back to Polisario’s camps in Tindouf.

“We are used to such non objective attitudes of the article’s writer,” said the Algerian spokesman in a written statement.

“It a misleading report as everyone knows about regional agents who incite and shelter Tawhid and Jihad movement in Western Africa and they are not present in Algeria,” he added.

“On his recent visit to Algiers, Malian foreign minister Tieman Hubert Coulibaly’s remarks were twisted by a neighbouring country’s news agency. This was meant to show that there is an alleged contact between the Polisario Front and Tawhid and Jihad movement in Western Africa.”
