The Algiers Director of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Moussa Abdellaoui, finished the sentence that was issued against him which is eight months of imprisonment in force, for the charge of taking advantage of an undue advantage, in a case that is considered as fabricated for personal reasons that will be disclosed in the right time.

In his first statement after leaving the prison, Moussa Abdellaoui, said on Sunday, in a phone conversation with Echorouk that he would not abandon his innocence and will fight to get it through the justice that he said he trusts it, through seeking to defend his right to be declared not guilty.

Abdellaoui said the accusation was fabricated against him, adding: ” I can only say: Allah is our defender.. We are sure that justice is ongoing, and I have resumed in the case, despite the depletion of punishment, and I will not stop until I get complete innocence, I have confidence to get it.”

“I think reason behind the case against me is envy. Every one occupying a good position faces envy, and every man who works hard finds difficulties.”

Previously, the Court of Misdemeanors at Algiers Council, has issued on last June, a decision to jail the director for one year, before he appealed against the verdict, which he considered as exaggerated, and benefited of mitigating circumstances by deciding eight months of imprisonment against him, and the public prosecutor had earlier ordered 10 years of imprisonment in force against him.
