Former minister of housing Abdelmadjid Aouchiche passes away

ALGIERS – Former Minister of Housing, Abdelmadjid Aouchiche, died Wednesday night at the age of 84 years in Mohamed-Seghir Nekkache hospital (Ain Naadja), following a long disease, his family said Thursday.

Born October 24, 1926 in Bordj Bou Arreridj, Colonel Abdelmadjid Aouchiche joins at the age of 10 years the Algerian Muslim Scouts and he develops his first introduction to national activism. Having participated in the events of May 8, 1945, he was arrested and transferred with his companions at Djenane Bourezg camp in the region of Bechar.

Released in November 1945, he joined later in 1956, resistance movement in the area of Lakhdaria, Region IV.
