Former ministers and top executives ordered to evacuate most prestigious state residence
Prestigious villas are occupied by 16 former PMs with their families.
General Director of state residence Hamid Melzi warned 37 former senior state executives including retired officials to evacuate their houses in `Club des Pins', according to reliable sources.

The officials have been given a deadline until August 31 to clear off the houses with their families to offer them to current senior executives in the state institutions.

The same sources told Echorouk that the houses are occupied by 16 former PMs with their families. Some of them held the positions of general advisors, chief advisors in governmental institutions and central directors in different ministries and institutions.

Those warnings sparked anger among the concerned residents. as some officials’ families which have still been living in the state residence for many years have never been asked to evacuate their houses.

According to other sources, it is not the first time that the director of the state residence has asked dismissed state executives to evacuate their houses in `Club des Pins’. However, some of them are indifferent and refuse to leave. Many of them ask for mediation to stay as long as possible in the state residence.

Residents in Club des Pins’ do not pay for water, electricity neither renting. Their houses are furnished and equipped with luxury devices.
