Four weapons’ stores disappear : Tizi Ouzou –Algeria

Investigations carried out by the Rogional Inspectorate Committee of the Central Directorate, belonging to the National Security about two weeks ago to register the “ disappearance of four stores of authomatic weapons of type Berita, under mysterious circumstances.

The sources that stated the news to Echorouk said that the preliminary investigation in the process identified the loss of these stores at the central warehouse of weapons which is belonging to the security interests of Tizi Ouzou province ( east of Algiers), and still continuing with the the review of policemen weapons’ registers, especially those who were in retirement or were in holidays.

Weapons which were seized and retrieved in the combing operations were at the possession of terrorists, and were subjected to maintenance.

Our sources refused to give us details about the case on the backgrounds that the investigation is still underway, and information about the existence of weapons’ stores has not been yet confirmed, partucularly firearms and warehouse-type “Berita” including 9 to 15 bullets, and now between 36 to 60 bullets’ destinations are unknow and even the persons who use them are unidentified.

According to information available at Echorouk, this investigation comes after the backdrop of an instruction that had been issued by the Colonel Tounsi, the General Director of the National Security, which previously Echorouk had referred to, after the issue of about 31 firearms disappearance issu, including authomatic pistols, kalashnikovs, hunting rifles and ammunition, where senior officers, including genral brigadiers, and two civilians, have been arrested, after the investigation showed thay were belonging to the GSPC.
