The national institution of publication and advertisement has published the Arabic translation of Michel Habar’s book untitled ‘the betrayal story.’

The book which was translated by Doctor Abderrezak Abid is a very important historical document. It deals with French’s testimony on massacres which had been perpetrated in Algeria since France occupied it.

“Their silence was turned by them into an additional weapon to punish nationalists who were against the genocide policy exercised by the French,” says the writer.

In his book, he stated that the real reasons which pushed France to invade Algeria consisted in the Casbah’s treasure which was a result of provocations. The writer admitted that France had led a holly war in Algeria with the Church’s blessing.

He also said that Algeria was a civilised country with instructed people.

“France profaned Muslims’ cemeteries…We threw the cemeteries’ bones to wind which guided the boats loaded with Algerians’ bones to Marseilles to be sold there to coal sellers.”
