Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Algeria's President

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika is still in Paris and his health condition is uncertain, French BFM TV said on Monday citing foreign ministry.

Three weeks ago, Bouteflika was taken to Val-De-Grâce hospital as he suffered a minor stroke. The French foreign ministry refused to give details to media before informing the TV channel that his health state is uncertain.

France did not say whether the president is still at the hospital or he was taken to another place.

Earlier, Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal said Bouteflika’s health condition is good and he is following national issues personally.

Adviser at the President’s Office Abderrezzak Bara said “Bouteflika’s health state is improving.”

This comes as the Algiers public prosecutor accused chief editor of Djaridati newspaper, Hichem Aboud of “undermining state security” by making “unfounded” comments to foreign media.

The newspaper  Bouteflika had lapsed into a coma last Wednesday.

Political parties called on the government to “say the truth,” criticizing the “blackout” around the president’s health state.
