French insurance company AXA set to open a branch in Algeria
The French insurance company “ AXA†has formally sent a request to the Algerian finance minister, Karim Djoudi to open a branch in Algeria.

The company’s managers declared that they will not wait for the privatization of a public insurance company to start operating in the Algerian market , adding that the branch will be chaired by Adlane Meslem, a French born Algerian, will start its activities with the beginning of the year.

A deal was struck last March between the Algerian finance minister and his French counterpart to end conflict dating to 1966 concerning French insurance companies that operated in Algeria, resulting in surge of requests formulated by these companies to establish again in the country.

Besides AXA, several French insurance companies expressed their will to establish in Algeria including: GROUPE RAMA, EGF,and MACIF .
