French justice hands over child murderer to Algeria
Echorouk newspaper quoted reliable sources as saying that the French justice has agreed to hand over an Algerian national named ( F.S ) who was arrested in France after being directly involved in the murder of an innocent 11 – year old child in January 2007 in the city of El Eulma in eastern Algeria.
In a bid to escape from the Algerian justice, the murderer fled to neighbouring Tunisia and then to France where he was arrested and jailed in the prison of Saint –Etienne.
The criminal was tracked down by the French police after receiving an international warrant of arrest issued by Algeria via Interpol.
Algeria and France are bound by a protocol agreement signed in 1965 and updated later which provides for the extradition of those people involved in criminal misdeeds in both countries.
A large number of criminals and serious offenders have already been extradited from both France and Algeria over the past few years as part of the implementation of this protocol agreement.
