French Parliament will prepare a comprehensive report about the political situation in Algeria and the presidential elections due to be held in 2014 and will be published before the end of October, Echorouk has learnt.

The report was supposed to be presented in June but its publication was postponed for considerations related to the “foggy situation in Algeria” for French politicians.

It will give a conclusion about analyses about possible names who will run for office and whether Algerian President Abdelziz Bouteflika would be among them.

France shows large interest in Algeria’s domestic affairs especially political events. Its ambassador to Algiers André Parant stared “sounding the poll” throughout meetings with political parties including the MSP and the RCD.

French Parliament founded a branch concerned by Algeria in its foreign affairs committee. Algeria is the only Arab and African country which has its own committee.

Earlier in 2011, the foreign affairs committee heard the Algerian foreign minister Mourad Medelci about issues related to the Arab Spring and its consequences on Algeria.
