Fuel- laden truck explosion kills 2 in southern Algeria

A tragic accident occurred on Monday night in the highway 01 linking the city of Ghardaia to Mania (south of Algeria) when a truck loaded with fuel caught fire killing the driver and his assistant.

• According to witnesses on spot, the accident was a real tragedy as a both victims were burnt to ashes since they were stuck inside helpless enable to escape from the blazes.
• The national gendarmerie elements backed by firemen immediately after the accident intervened to extinguish the fire which closed the road to traffic for more than 12 hours.
• So far, the identity of the dead has not been revealed, and the bodies were evacuated to the morgue at the nearest hospital.
• Preliminary investigations revealed that the causes behind this tragic accident were due to scorching temperatures adding to sand storms which prevailed in this region on Monday.
